New for 2024 is the Joey Sound Camera. Joey Sound Camera is an App developed for Axis cameras with Artpec 6 or later processors. All Joey units have Sound Camera capability built-in.
Joey presents the actual measured sound pressure levels on the Axis CCTV video in real-time. The measured sound pressure levels and the audio feed are obtained by a robust high-precision engineering specification sound level meter complying with stringent international standards. The Sound Camera is ideally suitable to photograph noisy vehicles at a racing track. For this application the camera needs to capture clear high-quality video and/or photographs for vehicle identification. Similarly Sound Camera may be used on public roads to capture images of noisy vehicles. When combined with the Axis number plate recognition app individual vehicles may be identified. Joey allows for simultaneous display on multiple CCTV cameras for complex video identification cases.
For environmental noise monitoring it may be desirable to use a PTZ (Point, Tilt, Zoom) camera. These cameras are equipped with a variety of intelligent features and can move between pre-set positions and zoom in automatically in response to detected events. Importantly, the camera becomes highly effective for Sound Camera applications when combined with Axis directional sound detector. This option allows the PTZ camera to point towards and track the movement of the dominant noise sources. The addition of these features significantly enhances the Sound Camera features to assist with noise identification.
There are numerous options for recording video, audio and photographs. The Sound Camera App includes a high-noise event that may be used to trigger various actions. Axis cameras are provided with exceptional file handling capability which may be fine tuned for the intended application. Optionally, Sound Camera may be integrated into the sites current CCTV surveillance recording system.
Joey Sound Camera App monitoring solution is low cost to purchase and to maintain. Power over Ethernet (PoE) supplies power for Joey, sound level meter and the camera. This makes deployment quick and easy without the need to provide a separate expensive power supply for the monitoring equipment. The Joey Sound Camera may be readily used for many applications such as:
