New Products

We are now pleased to announce that we are now supporting BSWA Sound Level meters with our all IoT noise monitoring solutions.

A complete IoT noise monitoring package is now available for $6,500 plus GST. This system comprises a Type 1 BSWA 308 sound level meter, Joey and a portable environmental monitoring case. The annual subscription is $720 plus GST covering the mobile connection and the web site data store, and trigger event messages..

With the BSWA we have included two new monitoring programs.

  • Standard Operation Mode comprises 14 user configurable metrics comprising any combination of Filter (A,B,C,Z), Detector(fast, slow, impulse), Mode(Max, Min, Peak, Leq, LIeq, LN01, …LN10). Where LN1 to LN10 may be set to the desired statistical value, i.e. L10, L90 etc.
  • Filter Program Mode This mode provides the monitoring statistics over a user selectable frequency band, i.e 10Hz to 500Hz.  This can be desirable say to just measure low frequency noise from industry or a ambient survey where insect noise is to be eliminated.

Additionally the new Joey programs now also supports:

  • the MPPT charger and reports solar metrics
  • Seeed studio SenseCap weather stations

As with before, all sensors, sound level meters are configured on the woopwoop site. To keep like easy, the BSWA default setting is the same standard profile already adopted on the for existing sound level meters.

The WoopWoop.online website has also been updated and continues to provide rich real-time data from high quality sound level meters.

Our company has been developing noise monitoring systems since 2005 and the Joey IoT system was released to the public in 2019. Unfortunately, due to price pressures on components we have just made our first price increase since 2019. These increases are limited to the Environmental Monitoring cases. The Joey, subscriptions and the Sound Camera costs remain unchanged.

Quick Deploy

We are please to announce the quick deploy feature for all Joey systems. A QR code is generated on the web site and assigned to each Joey. Quick deploy will greatly simplify deployment of loggers and eliminate the requirements for only those registered on WoopWoop to deploy/assign the equipment.

The steps to use comprise:

  1. On the WoopWoop website there will be a link to a unique QR code image and assigned to each Joey. The unique QRCode can be regenerated/replaced at any time for security purposes.
  2. The QR code image may be downloaded, printed and laminated and retained in the environmental case.
  3. When deploying a logger the person in the field will scan the QR code using their mobile phone and this will automatically create a site and assign the logger to the site.  The mobile phone’s GPS sets deployment location.
  4. The person deploying does not need to be registered nor logged into WoopWoop to undertake these tasks.
  5. The person deploying the logger then turns the unit on, waits for confirmation on the phone.

New Product Joey+

We are pleased to announce a new version of Joey, known as Joey+ (or Joey Plus). Joey plus adds a Power over Ethernet (PoE) RJ45 connector. This very exiting development will allow the Joey+ to be powered by the Ethernet cable.

Subscription costs for Joey+ are the same as for Joey. All new Joey units from 1 July 2022 can be upgraded to Joey+ by returning to the factory.

The use cases of Joey+ include:

  • connection to external modems (including satellite modems) for very remote installs,
  • connection to internet via ground networks (with mobile fallback)
  • connection to industrial networks
  • connection with industrial controllers
  • connection to PoE security camera networks, and
  • insert noise charts overlay on video feeds

Archive Sites

A new feature has been added to the web site. Sites that are no longer active may be archived. This removes the site from various displays, but does not delete any data. The site may be recovered at any time and made an active site again.

API Released

The API to permit that allows for access to WoopWoop.online logging data from external software. This enables noise logging data to be obtained automatically and added to your database. Refer to the help files for API function calls and response
